INTRODUCTION
The ASEAN University Network (AUN) aims to foster stronger cooperation between universities through sharing of best practices. Thus, the Libraries of ASEAN University Network (AUNILO), in cooperation with Universiti Putra Malaysia, will be conducting a workshop on “Co-Creating the Future of Libraries: Empowering Academic Librarians for Innovation and Impact” on 03 August 2023. The theme is aligned with one of the core strategies identified at the 2nd Strategic AUNILO Planning Workshop held in 2019. Therefore, this year, we will share and discuss academic librarians’ empowerment encompassing redefining roles, initiatives, benefits and best practices.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The workshop will cover the following topics:

ABOUT THE THEME
“Co-Creating the Future of Libraries: Empowering Academic Librarians for Innovation and Impact”
The academic library profession is constantly evolving, and it is essential for librarians to be empowered and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate these changes. This conference will focus on various aspects of an academic librarian’s empowerment, including redefining roles, addressing challenges in the new environments, and sharing best practices and techniques. It will provide a platform for discussion on the status of empowerment within AUNILO, the empowerment process, and strategy. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field, participate in thought-provoking discussions, and learn about the benefits of empowerment and how it can positively impact their libraries and communities.
